Basic Modules:

Tamimi Academy is an American institute for continuing dental education which is organizing the following Basic  and Advanced Modules , to guarantee an actual high quality of education by world famous speakers and to help Applicants for IBOI to collect needed points on a high international standards of step by step teaching in accredited modules that can fit to present to any licencing authority for dental licence 

 

This series of educational programs will provide you with the opportunity to begin your implant education by being provided the knowledge, skills and abilities it take your implant skills to a higher level of understanding

The completion of 10 Basic Modules and their examination from Tamimi Academy will lead you automatically to be granted the Fellowship in Oral Implantology

Module 1 – General Introduction of Oral Implantology

This module is an introduction to Oral Implantology and to the other modules to give an overall information to participants then to focus on each major aspects and further details in the other 9 modules to follow:

 

  • Anatomical vital structures

  • Bone biology and physiology

  • Patient preparation and treatment plan

  • Dental and medical history

  • Medically compromised patients

  • Geriatric dentistry

  • Physiology and Biology of Aging with reviewing different changes:

    • Teeth, mouth, jaw, skull, face etc. edentulous mouth, alveolar ridge atrophy, muscular changes, bite records, mucous membranes, old men´s face, "anatomical pitfalls", Microbiology.

  • Reviewing different Oral diseases of Aging

    • Xerostomia, malignancies, caries, etc. dental age-related diseases and orofacial effects, effects on implant success, risk factors, bone diseases (Osteoporosis, Radio necrosis, Osteomyelitis, Bisphosphonates)

  • Dental implants (designs, Loading modes, placement modes)

  • Indications/contraindications of Implants.

  • Treatment plan and design, number of implants and prosthesis

  • Treatment plan for single tooth implant

  • Temporary restoration of single tooth implant

  • Treatment plan for partially edentulous patients

  • Treatment plan for fully Edentulous patients, mandible and maxilla

  • Implant prosthetics options

  • Biomechanical considerations

  • Impression techniques

  • Anchoring and connection elements (attachments)

  • General principles of operation, Organizational prerequisites for the performance of Dental   implants ( Marketing,Clinic, nurses, team, instruments, equipment and all requirements to insert implants,) Quality management: Hygiene, equipment, nurses, operation theater

  • Patient instruction, medico legal aspects consent forms, risks and risk management.

  • Preparation and incision

  • Individual steps of implantation

  • Healing periods

  • Introduction to augmentation (membranes and bone grafts)

    • Introduction and terminology

    • Membranes and bone substitute materials

    • Platelets concentrates, different techniques.

    • To decide when to use each type of membranes and bone grafts

    • Composite bone grafts what is the best percentage of mixing

  • Onlay grafts

    • bone augmentation after extensive bone loss in the maxilla

    • bone augmentation after extensive bone loss in the mandible

    • Edentulous jaw augmentation
